Reiki Volunteer - United Hospice : Job Details

United Hospice, Inc. is a community-based, not-for-profit that provides care and support to the communities of Rockland and Orange Counties in New York. United Hospice envisions a community in which all individuals and their loved ones facing serious illness retain their dignity and hope while receiving the best care and support that hospice has to offer. We are currently seeking a Massage Therapist to join our team. The Reiki Volunteer serves as an additional support to patients, families and caregivers by performing Reiki to facilitate the body's relaxation response . Provision of Reiki may promote a reduction in anxiety, muscle tension, or pain, and can promote wellness and a greater sense of well-being. The Reiki volunteer may only perform Reiki to the head, neck, shoulders, arms and below the groin. Visits may occur in the patient's home or in a professional care setting.\ This is a volunteer position and is unpaid.
