The salary range for this role is: $73,083.69 - $124,154.22

Responsibilities:

This position supports the Regulatory team with three main functions:

  • Providing regulatory support across DMFI, including developing technical data for labels (nutrition facts, ingredients, standards of identity, claims), packaging, and maintaining regulatory information in databases.
  • Reviewing and approving all consumer and customer communications (advertising, promotions, digital content).
  • Developing and maintaining regulatory systems (SAP, RQS, Genesis), creating policies and procedures compliant with evolving regulations (Bioengineered Food Disclosure, Nutritional Label Reform, Organic, packaging laws, bottle bill).
  • Additional responsibilities include:

    • Coordinating and executing regulatory approvals for labels and promotional materials in collaboration with Marketing, Product Development, Legal, and Creative Services.
    • Advising on regulatory labeling challenges and opportunities to meet marketing and consumer expectations.
    • Developing compliant Bioengineered Food Disclosure and NLR label content for all business segments.
    • Aligning regulatory standards with senior management and store brand customers.
    • Guiding formula development to ensure label compliance and claim substantiation.
    • Reviewing labels and consumer communications for regulatory compliance.
    • Responding to customer inquiries regarding labeling and ingredient use.
    • Preparing labels for export/import with supervisory guidance.
    • Maintaining nutritional databases and training staff on Genesis and PDM systems.
    • Reviewing and approving process changes and formula updates for regulatory compliance.
    • Supporting data export to websites and databases.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • BS in Nutrition, Food Science, or related field
    • 3-4 years in food labeling or related areas like QA or product development; at least 2 years of recent US FDA/USDA regulatory labeling experience; processed foods retail experience preferred.
    • Intermediate knowledge of FDA and USDA labeling regulations
    • Ability to learn and use systems like RQS, SGS, GDSN, SAP
    • Proficient in Genesis and PDM software
    • Basic knowledge of international labeling laws (Mexican, Canadian, South American, Asian)
    • Strong analytical skills for complex regulation interpretation and product claim substantiation
    • Proven cross-functional collaboration skills
    • Domestic travel up to 10% as needed
