About the Company:

My client is a privately held, fast-growing energy developer is expanding its external and regulatory affairs team. The company has an active presence across several major U.S. power markets and develops utility-scale projects that contribute to a more modern, reliable, and sustainable energy grid.

Their portfolio spans clean energy technologies and includes both operating and in-development assets across multiple regional transmission organizations (RTOs).

About the Role:

They are seeking a Manager of External & Regulatory Affairs to support and help execute the company's strategy across key U.S. power markets. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in energy policy, ISO/RTO engagement, or wholesale power market strategy who's ready to take on a highly visible, cross-functional position.

You'll represent the company in stakeholder processes, track evolving regulatory trends, and support efforts to shape market design in ways that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and executing the company's regulatory and stakeholder engagement strategy across PJM, MISO, SPP, and other markets.
  • Represent the company in ISO/RTO stakeholder groups, market design discussions, and interconnection policy forums.
  • Monitor relevant legislation and policy initiatives at the state and local levels.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (development, legal, commercial) and external partners (consultants, trade associations).
  • Translate regulatory developments into business insights and strategic recommendations.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in energy policy, regulatory affairs, or market operations (ideally in power generation, utilities, consulting, or public sector).
  • Familiarity with ISO/RTO functions and stakeholder processes (PJM, MISO, SPP preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills—comfortable presenting and advocating in public settings.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in policy, economics, engineering, energy, or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel 20–30% as needed.
