Registration Specialist - Admissions at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas:

Interface with visitors, patients, family, and physicians on phone and in person for patient admission to Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Las Colinas.

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

License: BLS required

Required Experience

Minimum 1-year customer service experience, previous medical office or hospital experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic computer skills

Good communication and people skills.

Basic office skills

Excellent telephone skills - ability to screen incoming calls, adequately respond to telephone inquiries.

Ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive, privileged communications and work product.

Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record system for documentation to patients account/record

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs clerical duties involved with admission of patients, keeping delays to a minimum

Ensures identification, insurance and all Admissions paperwork is accurate and scanned into the PAS system

Directs patient to appropriate area upon arrival

Ensures patient is registered and marked properly in the PAS system

Understands how to add a walk-in or direct admit into the PAS system

Prepares charts/packets as assigned

Expedites patient complaints and concerns promptly to correct department

Answers incoming calls, responding correctly or transferring as needed

Assists with distribution of messages

Responds promptly when code is alerted

Logs payments, maintains daily and balance cash drawer

Completes Beginning and End of Shift duties

Maintains organized and cleanliness appearance of lobby areas

Other duties as assigned (to include Lead Representative duties-if applicable)
