Registration Representative - Medix : Job Details

Job Summary The Outpatient Registration Representative in the Infusion Center is responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient registration process. This includes verifying patient demographics, obtaining insurance information, securing necessary authorizations, collecting co-pays or payments, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies. The representative serves as a key point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in the overall patient experience. Key Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients for scheduled and walk-in outpatient infusion appointments.
• Accurately collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and financial information.
• Obtain appropriate authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications when required.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, or outstanding balances at the time of service.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients regarding their appointments, insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and wait times.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure patients are registered in a timely manner and that appointments are appropriately documented in the EMR.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments or infusion sessions when appropriate.
• Resolve registration-related issues promptly and escalate complex matters to a supervisor or billing department as necessary.
• Maintain and update patient records in the system to reflect accurate and current information.
• Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and performance improvement initiatives.
