Job SummaryThe University Registrar at Maharishi International University reports to the Vice President of Enrollment and Student Affairs and plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of student academic records across all colleges. This leadership position oversees the planning, development, and continuous improvement of student record systems while serving as a key resource for academic and administrative partners. The Registrar interprets and enforces academic policies, ensures compliance with federal and institutional regulations, and certifies enrollment and degree awards on behalf of the University.Job ResponsibilitiesLeadership and strategic planning* Provide vision, leadership, and accountability for the operations of the Registrar's Office.* Align policies, systems, and services with university priorities and student success goals.* Supervise, train, and support the professional and personal development of the Registrar's Office staff to foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture.* Develop and maintain procedural documentation and training resources for Registrar services.Records Management and Compliance* Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of student academic records and transcripts.* Ensure compliance with FERPA and all applicable federal, state, and institutional policies.* Manage academic calendars, registration policies, and degree auditing systems.* Certify degrees and enrollment status for internal and external reporting.Systems oversight* Oversee and improve the use of student information systems, including degree audit platforms, catalog and curriculum management tools, and course scheduling systems.* Serve as the lead liaison for system upgrades, implementations, and integrations affecting academic records and registration.Campus and External Partnerships* Collaborate with faculty, academic leadership, and administrative teams on matters related to curriculum, course scheduling, and academic policy.* Provide data and reports for institutional research, accreditation, audits, and regulatory agencies (e.g., IPEDS, HLC, NC-SARA).Skill Requirements* Excellent communication and leadership skills, supporting and supervising professional staff.* Demonstrated strategic thinking, with the ability to align initiatives and departmental planning with broader organizational goals.* Proficiency in database management, reporting, and designing efficient administrative workflows.* Proficiency with student information systems (e.g., Jenzabar, Ellucian, PeopleSoft) and related technologies.* Ability to interpret and apply complex policies.* Knowledge of academic policies and regulations.* Proven ability to collaborate across departments and lead with empathy, integrity, and accountability.* Ability to listen effectively, build strong relationships, maintain good rapport, and openly share best practices, tools, and expertise.* Ability to work well under pressure and flexibility in adapting and responding to changing situations.Education and Experience* Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.* Demonstrated leadership experience preferably in Academic/Enrollment Management roles.* In-depth knowledge of FERPA, as well as experience on issues related to the protection of confidential student records.* Familiarity with accreditation and reporting requirements, including HLC and NC-SARA.* Experience in a registrar or academic records management role preferred.* Experience with higher education administrative processes and systems.* Experience with student information systems.
