Registrar - THE SPINE HOSPITAL OF LOUISIANA : Job Details

The Registrar is responsible for gathering all the necessary information for registering patients and creating a patient encounter on the computer. This includes updating existing information, verifying the correctness of the details, collecting co-pays and deductibles, explaining forms, obtaining proper signatures, and setting up payment arrangements for balances. In addition, the Registrar is responsible for collecting any amounts due, issuing appropriate receipts, and depositing them correctly. Responsible for notifying/locating patients to be registered by using a pager system. Verifies all patient demographics, including insurance information, and ensures HIPAA guidelines are followed. Documents accurate information into the computer system, including comments about the case or patient. Obtains written consent from all patients. Responsible for correcting errors or omissions, including patients insurance information.
