Registrar, Ambulatory Care Services - SUNY Downstate Medical Center : Job Details

The Department of Ambulatory Care Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Registrar / TH Staff Assistant 2. The successful candidate will: Interview and verify demographic, biographic, and financial information with the patient and/or family members in order to complete a registration using the Eagle Database System. Place wristband on patients wrist or ankle for children under 2 years old. Verify insurance eligibility of all patients through EMEV (Medicaid), MCVR (Medicare), EBLC (Blue Cross), and Clearance (for all commercial insurances). Distribute information relating to patents rights and the HIPAA privacy law. Obtain patients signatures on all necessary forms authorizing consent and acknowledging receipt. Reconcile all patient charts. Assist patients or family members with inquiries. Admit patients utilizing the Orchestrate System. Convert outpatient registration to inpatient.
