POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, leverage your expertise and compassionate care to provide outstanding respiratory services to our patients. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will play a crucial role in delivering personalized healthcare.

Our facility, Canton-Potsdam Hospital, is a community-driven, certified 94-bed not-for-profit healthcare provider. We are committed to delivering exceptional services across various specialties, including emergency medicine and critical care, while proudly supporting outpatient services in Brasher Falls, Canton, Colton, Gouverneur, Massena, Norfolk, and Potsdam, NY.

POSITION STATUS: Full-Time

LOCATION: Canton Potsdam Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Respiratory

SCHEDULE: 7.5 hrs, Days

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certification required.

  • Must possess a New York State Respiratory Therapist license.

  • ACLS certification must be obtained within one year of hire.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Care: Assess patient history, perform physical exams, monitor vital signs, and evaluate respiratory care orders; collaborate with providers to ensure the best care techniques are implemented.

  • Planning & Documentation: Develop and maintain respiratory care plans for patients while documenting all clinical parameters and assessments; adjust treatment strategies based on patient responses.

  • Education & Communication: Provide clear patient education for therapeutic procedures; communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient status and participate in the training of new staff and allied health professionals.

UNION: 1199-721 - LPN & Technical (CPH)

Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligible.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Medium Work – Requires exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and frequently lifting or moving lighter objects.

The listed base pay range of $35.42 - $52.55 represents potential compensation for a successful full-time applicant and may vary based on experience and qualifications.
