Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Location: Bronx, NY 10461 Duration: 13-Week Assignment (Extendable) Shift: 12-Hour Days | 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM | 36 hours/week Pay Rate: $65/hour (W2) Job Summary: A leading healthcare facility in Bronx, NY is seeking a skilled and certified Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week contract assignment, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adult and pediatric patients in general care, critical care, and emergency settings. Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory therapy to patients in general care and intensive care units (Adult & Pediatric)
- Deliver emergency respiratory care in ER, Trauma, NICU, PICU, and MICU settings
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized respiratory care treatment plans
- Administer therapeutic and diagnostic procedures such as mechanical ventilation and pulmonary function tests
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards
Required Education:
- Associate's Degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in:
- Adult & Pediatric general and critical care
- Emergency, Trauma, NICU, PICU, MICU, and ER environments
- Proficient in the use of respiratory equipment, ventilators, and diagnostic testing tools
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
Required Certifications & Licenses:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Valid NY State License to practice as a Respiratory Therapist - issued by NYSED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Required for NICU assignments
- Primary Source License Verification - Required
Preferred Certification:
- Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) - Preferred
