Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) Location: Hyannis, MA 02601 Duration: 13-Week Assignment (Potential for Extension) Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM | 12 Hours/Day | 36 Hours/Week Pay Rate: $60/hourJob Overview: A reputable healthcare facility in Hyannis, MA is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (or Certified Respiratory Therapist) for a 13-week contract assignment with potential for extension. This role involves providing critical respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in a dynamic hospital setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Identify acute and chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunctions.
- Initiate and manage ventilatory support; recommend and adjust ventilator settings.
- Follow therapist-driven protocols and department policies.
- Perform diagnostic procedures including ABG draws and sputum collection.
- Interpret ABGs, perform bedside spirometry and capnography.
- Monitor patients during intra-hospital and inter-facility transports.
- Respond to Codes and Rapid Response Team calls.
- Assist with conscious sedation, intubations, and bronchoscopies.
- Administer therapeutic gases including oxygen, Heliox, and high-flow therapies.
- Provide respiratory support to neonatal and pediatric populations.
- Maintain and assess artificial airways (tracheostomy, laryngectomy).
- Perform airway clearance methods including PEP, CPT, aerosolized therapies.
- Administer and manage non-invasive ventilation.
- Accurately document care and perform daily charge reconciliation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Train, orient, and mentor respiratory staff and students as needed.
- Maintain respiratory equipment and supplies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and education.
Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Massachusetts State Respiratory Therapy License (active)
- BLS Certification (current)
- NRP Certification (or must obtain within 6 months of hire and maintain bi-annually)
- Minimum 1 year of critical care experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and bedside manner
