About the job Registered Respiratory Therapist - Local or Travel Contract - Norfolk, NE Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Complex CareLocation: Norfolk, NE Position Type: 13 Week Local or Travel Contract Start Date: October 17, 2023 Shift: 12 Hour Nights (Fri-Sun, Thurs-Sat OR 6 on 8 off with E/O wknd) Minimum Hours: 34.5 guaranteed hours/week (BUT facility can cancel 1 shift per every 2 week pay period that will not be billed/paid) Local Rate: $60/hr OT $90 Travel Rate: $33/HR OT $49.50 + $1000 weekly stipend Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) specializing in complex care, you will be a crucial member of our healthcare team. Your role will involve performing age-specific assessments tailored to each patient's respiratory needs, providing education, therapy, and diagnostic services as prescribed by physicians. You'll contribute to organizing care, evaluating treatment effectiveness, and maintaining accurate documentation. This position requires the care of patients requiring oxygen therapy, respiratory treatments, and life support. You will also handle tasks such as ECGs, Holter and Event Monitor setups, Pulmonary Function Testing, and EEGs. Your role will encompass patient, family, and staff education, promoting respiratory health and disease management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform age-specific assessments and adapt procedures for various patient age groups, incorporating cultural considerations and growth stages. Administer prescribed respiratory therapy, medications, and therapy tailored to each patient's unique needs. Maintain and monitor patient airways, including oxygen delivery, ventilatory support, and life-saving interventions. Operate and maintain equipment used in patient care, including diagnostic testing tools. Prioritize tasks and adjust to changing circumstances effectively. Collaborate with other departments and provide assistance in the absence of regular staff. Document treatment activities, patient responses, and adverse reactions accurately. Process patient charges accurately and timely. Maintain current knowledge, certifications, and licensure as required by the organization's policies. Act as a role model for current and new staff, facilitating conflict resolution and maintaining a positive attitude. Promote a safe and respectful environment while adhering to the organization's policies and procedures.
