Position Highlights
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Surgical Scheduler Registered Nurse in our Endoscopy Department at BJWC to coordinate and schedule endoscopic procedures for patients in a fast paced clinical environment.
This role is essential in ensuring seamless patient care by collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and patients to arrange endoscopy pre-operative/ procedural appointments efficiently. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, customer service and multitasking skills , strong medical terminology knowledge and be proficient in Epic and Microsoft Office Suite.
Overview
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park.
The Endoscopy department at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital is a highly specialized, full-service department meeting the needs of inpatient and outpatient clients. The lab specializes in Upper Endoscopy (EGD), Esophagoscopy, Colonoscopy, Flexible sigmoidoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Small bowel enteroscopy (SBE), and Video capsule endoscopy. The endoscopy staff consists of a NP, RN¿s and technicians who are overseen by an Endoscopy Supervisor.
Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose
The RN Scheduler performs the scheduling function for surgeries/procedures and must have a knowledge of various clinical service lines for the operating rooms. This position requires an individual to maintain effective partnerships with physicians/physician offices. The role also requires an individual to be organized, detail oriented, and efficient.
