Job DetailsJob Location Champlin Ave - Utica, NY Position Type Full Time Salary Range $39.25 - $39.25 Hourly Travel Percentage None Job Shift Any Description$3,000 Sign on Bonus!! This would be a rotating schedule as follows: 12-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 8 am-8 pm; Monday-Wednesday off and then 2, 8-hour shifts on Thursday and Friday. Basic Function/Overall Responsibilities: To provide nursing services within the scope of licensure granted by the State of New York in accordance with agency-established job description and policy and procedures. Principal Assigned Responsibilities:
  • Performs admission assessments on new clients with annual and as needed updates.
  • Performs quarterly and as needed updates on children's' heights/weights/blood pressures.
  • Attends resident progress conferences as required.
  • Participates in medication-related functions which may include, but are not limited to, ordering, checking, logging in, distributing, and administering medications.
  • Assists HGS physicians (psychiatrist/pediatrician/nurse practitioner) with evaluation of children and follows-up on any orders resulting from such evaluations.
  • Participates in scheduling children's; health-related appointments upon admission, annually, and as needed .
  • Documents appropriate information in clinical records.
  • Carriers out and follows-up on physicians' orders.
  • Participates in medication reviews with physicians and case conferences as needed.
  • Coordinates services with other HGS staff members and families.
  • Ensures presence of appropriate data and documentation in clinical records via chart reviews.
  • Participates in departmental and agency-wide QA/QI activities.
  • Maintains supplies and equipment in accordance with established policy and procedures.
  • Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Assumes on-call responsibilities in accordance with established policy and procedures.
  • Performs employee health screenings.
  • Follows established agency policy and procedure regarding Infections Control.
  • Assumes relief of nursing supervisor duties when assigned.
  • Review, revise, and co-sign documentation assessments completed by Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Other tasks as requested by supervisor(s).
QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements:
  • Current New York State licensure/registration as a Professional Registered Nurse;
  • Minimum 1-year general nursing experience; or
    • Experience with children and/or emotionally disturbed individuals; or
    • pediatric or mental health nursing experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
