Job descriptionJob Title: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Syracuse, NY 13210 Job Type: Full time Contract Shift: Days or Nights/ 12 hr shifts Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Syracuse, NY. The Med-Surg RN will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting, working with patients recovering from surgery and managing various medical conditions. This is a great opportunity for travel nurses or RNs looking for short-term contract work with competitive pay and benefits. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, patient-centered care in a medical-surgical unit.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and other prescribed treatments.
• Assist with post-operative care, wound management, and pain control.
• Educate patients and families on disease management and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and follow hospital protocols.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and medical emergencies.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in New York (or compact license if applicable).
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required (or willing to obtain).
• 1+ years of recent Med-Surg experience preferred.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and work independently.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
