S:US is seeking a Registered Nurse for their adult families shelter in Manhattan.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday (9am-5pm) with one late shift of choice (11am-7pm)
Scope of Role: The Registered Nurse will meet with staff to coordinate shelter residents to receive ongoing treatment in the community, supervise LPN, Patient Navigator, and Health Educator, assist Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner as needed. He/she will Administer medications and document administration as required. Take vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature and weight. Assist with diabetes medication and treatment and take medical histories and enter information in computer systems. The RN will coordinate with Case Manager, Senior Case Manager and Director of Social Services to ensure proper care, nutrition and treatment plans are followed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Required Education and Experience:
NYS RN license
Knowledge of chemical dependency as a primary diagnosis
Excellent written and verbal communication
Assessment and case management experience required
Ability to provide crisis intervention utilizing good interpersonal skills with a high level of maturity and responsibility
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Basic knowledge of human services
Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking preferred
