We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client's Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team in Midland, MI. This full-time Cardiac Surgery RN position is ideal for a nurse with open-heart surgery experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment. This is a critical-care nursing role supporting complex cardiothoracic and open-heart procedures —including CABG, valve replacements, and other advanced cardiac surgeries —alongside a highly skilled surgical team. Responsibilities Provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing care to open-heart and cardiovascular surgery patients. Assist with CABG, valve repair/replacement, and other cardiac surgical procedures. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict patient safety protocols. Support anesthesia services and prepare specialized surgical equipment. Coordinate activities of the surgical team to ensure timely and efficient workflow in the OR. Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to OR staff. Document care accurately and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Contribute to staff training, preceptorship, and continuing education. Qualifications Active RN license in Michigan or a compact state (required). Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred. Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR nursing experience with open-heart surgery. BLS certification (required) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
