Description:

Under the supervision of the Nutrition Services Coordinator, serves as a member of the healthcare team who plans, directs, and implements nutrition intervention to patients based on specified assessment criteria.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient, with awareness of the principles of growth and development and assessment of data reflective of the patient s status to determine specific requirements and needs and responses.

Collaborates with other healthcare team members to coordinate hospital therapy and plan post discharge care.

Provides nutrition therapy and education to promote healthier lifestyle.

Maintains professionalism by providing all services in accordance with clinical standards.

Serve as preceptor for dietetic interns as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:

Work experience preferred in a healthcare facility. Experience may be deferred for those meeting the educational qualifications.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

Current license with the MS State Board of Health.

Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nutrition, dietetics, or food service management to meet the educational requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to successfully complete the Dietitian/National Registration Examination required. Master's degree preferred.

Duration: 13 Weeks, with possible extension

Schedule: 40(5*8)hrs./week Shift: 8 am - 4:30 pm

Weekly Gross: $2,200 /-

Hourly Blended Pay Rate: $55.15/hour
