Work Hours: Daylight 24 hours per week, no weekends, no major holidays, occasional evening for support groups
The primary function of the Bariatric Registered Dietitian is to apply the science of nutrition to devise comprehensive nutrition therapy plans as a member of the health care team. Meet with the referred patients to provide individualized, disease specific plan of care. Support to patients undergoing medical weight loss treatment, including those who have undergone bariatric surgery. Support data collection and/or analyze and report data for outcome studies and quality assessment processes. Evaluate and educate patients on healthy eating habits. Works collaboratively with other Community Health and Population Health programs to provide education and assist with patient care. Support Heritage Valley mission, vision and values by participating in interdisciplinary processes and committees, and HVHS sponsored community programs.
REQUIRED
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or related field of study from an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved program.
Certification/Licensure: Registered Dietitian (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration; maintain a valid Pennsylvania State License as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN). Experience in electronic medical record charting and proficiency in use of computers and internet.
Clearance: Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
PREFEFFED
Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Membership in other professional organizations like PDA, ASPEN, Diabetes Association, AADE, WPADE, etc. Advance practice certification (CDCES, CNSC) and/or Masters' Degree. At least one year experience in a clinical nutrition position and/or experience in weight loss management and bariatric dietitian.
