An exciting opportunity for a CPE certified educator who has a passion for serving seniors and directing a CPE program within the specialized context of continuing care retirement communities. Phoebe Ministries was founded in 1903 by deaconesses within the Reformed (now, United Church of Christ) church tradition. Our faith heritage provides a strong foundation for the care we seek to provide those who come to live and work at Phoebe. This position helps Phoebe to live its mission: to be “a community of faith, called by God, to enrich the lives of our seniors, their families, and the communities we serve.” This position oversees the staff chaplains who serve on each of Phoebe's three main campuses, offering supervision and leadership to the department. The CPE program at Phoebe has been in operation for over 25 years and enjoys strong support from the executive leadership, as well as a sizable endowment fund made possible by generous donors.

Responsibilities for a Regional Director of Pastoral Care and Education with Phoebe Allentown:
Responsible for directing the pastoral care department and Clinical Pastoral Education/CPE program; promoting the relationship of Phoebe Ministries with its supporting churches, conferences and community stakeholders; conducting and supervising a variety of spiritual programming and providing for the spiritual needs of Phoebe residents, families and staff; coordinating the work within the department as well as collaborating with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the Senior Vice President of Operations; responding to inquiries and requests from residents, families and staff; developing, implementing and achieving annual goals and objectives; hiring, directing and supervising pastoral care staff; providing periodic reports.
