The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) provides strategic leadership, oversight, and operational support to a portfolio of skilled nursing facilities within a designated region. The RDO is responsible for ensuring exceptional resident care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and the implementation of corporate initiatives. This role requires a strong operator with a proven track record in skilled nursing facility management, an understanding of clinical operations, and the ability to mentor and develop facility-level leadership.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct operational oversight to Administrators/Directors of Nursing of assigned facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations, including CMS and Department of Health standards.
- Lead and support quality improvement initiatives to ensure excellent resident outcomes and survey performance.
- Monitor facility performance against budget and benchmarks; develop action plans to address variances.
- Collaborate with clinical, financial, HR, and business office teams to drive overall facility success.
- Guide facilities in census development strategies, referral relationship management, and marketing initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between facility leadership and corporate departments, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate Administrators, Directors of Nursing and key regional staff.
- Lead by example and foster a culture of accountability, compassion, and continuous improvement.
- Review and approve facility budgets; monitor revenue cycle metrics and manage operational expenses.
- Conduct regular facility visits to assess operations, coach leadership, and ensure standards are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field preferred.
- Active PA Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in long-term care or post-acute care operations.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple facilities and leading teams to meet or exceed operational targets.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, clinical practices, and financial drivers in the skilled nursing industry.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned region (up to 75%).
