Job Summary Wesley Housing is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven leader to serve as the Regional Community Services Manager for our newly expanded portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead resident services from the ground up for 15 affordable housing communities acquired during a recent merger-forming our third service region. This role is ideal for a social work professional who thrives on innovation, relationship-building, and delivering programs that uplift communities. The Manager will also lead seasonal initiatives across all regions, coordinating company-wide programs like Summer Initiatives, Back to School, and Holiday Help. Essential Functions Regional Resident Services Development (70%)

  • Launch resident services for 15 properties in rural Virginia through strategic planning and grassroots execution.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, local property managers, and community partners to tailor programs that meet real needs.
  • Conduct community needs assessments-either directly or through supervised interns-and translate results into actionable service plans.
  • Use CORES-aligned community mapping tools to analyze regional demographics and resource utilization.
  • Develop and launch an intern program:
- Write intern job descriptions and secure partnerships with local colleges. -Supervise hiring, training, and placement of interns for spring, summer, and fall cycles. -Remotely supervise interns. Provide robust learning experience. Coach and monitor performance to ensure alignment with resident services and intern program goals.
  • Establish collaborative protocols with property management, especially for cross-departmental efforts like eviction prevention or safety concerns.
  • Drive resident engagement through consistent and culturally responsive communication channels (e.g., newsletters, bulletin boards, text platforms).
  • Travel to assigned properties regularly (30-50%, decreasing to 20-40% after the first year depending on site needs).
Portfolio-wide Seasonal & Special Projects (30%)
  • Lead the planning, training, execution, evaluation and wrap-up for high-impact, portfolio-wide programs.
  • Develop and maintain an annual calendar for company-wide initiatives in partnership with site teams, ensuring clear communication of goals, metrics, and timelines.
  • Supervise the full-time seasonal Summer Camp Director each summer and provide ongoing coaching to site-level staff in collaboration with their direct supervisors.
  • Monitor and track program performance, strive for continuous improvement, and ensure activities align with Wesley's mission of empowering communities.
  • Partner with the VP of Resident Services to build and manage program budgets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) required; Master's degree (MSW) strongly preferred
  • Minimum four year experience and two years' post-graduate experience in delivering social services programs and/or case management
  • Demonstrated success designing, launching, and evaluating community-based programs
  • At least one year of experience managing remote interns or staff in human services settings
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across diverse populations
  • Must have experience working with older adults as a client population
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel regionally (up to 50%) and work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance required
  • Strong advocacy and problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for individuals and families
  • Proficient in using case management software and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse socioeconomic background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage effectively with individuals at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
  • Exceptional time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Physical Job Requirements
  • Able to remain in a stationary (standing and/or seated) position more than half the time
  • May need to move about corporate office or property sites more than half the time
  • Able to regularly maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
  • Able to operate machinery and equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists (ex.'s: typing, filing, etc.)
  • Able to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors
  • Exposed to outdoor weather conditions less than half the time
  • Exposed to non-climate controlled workspace(s) less than half the time
  • Able to identify and distinguish between colors less than half the time
Travel Requirements
  • This position commutes to local and more distant Wesley Housing sites up to 50% of the time.
