Mead & Hunt - Refrigeration Engineer

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. We are seeking a full-time Refrigeration Engineer.

  • Conduct job-site surveys.
  • Calculate refrigeration requirements for process cooling and building loads.
  • Assist in developing project documentation including drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.
  • Select and apply system equipment to new and existing systems.
  • Coordinate technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Travel may be required.
    • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
    • At least five years of relevant mechanical experience.
    • PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in other states.
    Preferred Skills and Experience

    The ideal candidate will have experience with:

    • Project management
    • Ammonia refrigeration design
    • Chilled water/hydronic design
    • Equipment selection
    • Developing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Microsoft Office software
    • Mentoring less experienced staff
