Job Description :
The Referral Intake Assistant is responsible for obtaining new patient demographic and financial information and entering into database. Obtains insurance authorization and eligibility for initial evaluation, schedules initial appointment, obtains patient records, and mails new patient information packet. Supports the department Performance Improvement program through proactive involvement in a Self-Managed Work Team. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Minimum three years clerical or secretarial experience in a medical setting. Insurance verification, scheduling or billing experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer software and spreadsheets (excel, word, PowerPoint), and other software programs necessary to the position.
