Recruiting & Admissions Specialist

This position is responsible for sourcing new students for the Exeter Job Corps trade school which will eventually lead to quality full-time jobs, military enlistment, enrollment in higher education, or Job Corps advanced training. Identifies and develops relationships with local high schools, trade schools, social service organizations, etc. to find individuals that want to learn a trade, become a high school graduate, learn basic adult life skills to be a valuable member of society. This position will work primarily at the One-Stop Career Center at 50 Sims Ave. in Providence, RI. This individual will come to the Job Corps center in Exeter one scheduled day a week and as needed.

What Is Exeter Job Corps Academy?

We support the Job Corps program's mission to teach eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and place them in meaningful jobs or further education. Our center specializes in Culinary Arts, Welding, Electronics Engineering, and Certified Medical Assistant program.

Employment at Exeter Job Corps is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, employment verification, education verification, professional reference check and motor vehicle record check.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively recruits new students by going out into the community - attends job fairs, spends four days a week at the One-Stop in Providence, assists with tours for prospective students and their families
  • Creates recruitment folders for prospective students and assists with determining student eligibility
  • Establishes supportive/mentoring relationships with students during their Job Corps tenure
  • Oversees, develops, monitors, and updates student transition plans to ensure successful outcome
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school; or Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field from an accredited school and two years related experience in youth programs
  • Previous sales/recruiting experience preferred
  • Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements
