Pay: $22.00-27.00
The Recreation Therapist Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating recreation programs, documentation, and supervising a team of Recreation Therapy Assistants. Responsibilities:
- Develop recreation therapy programs tailored to meet the therapeutic needs of residents across social, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual domains.
- Ensure all activities are conducted with safety as a priority.
- Implement a broad range of recreation therapy activities including sports, nature study, therapeutic, and social activities.
- Address residents' therapeutic recreation needs as part of the treatment team.
- Accurately document activities and assessments in residents' charts.
- Perform recreational therapy assessments.
- Innovate and contribute to recreational programs.
- Provide high-quality group therapy sessions.
- Act as a resource to team members, participate in meetings, and contribute insights on residents' needs.
- Coordinate activities and tasks among team members and organizations.
- Interact with residents and staff with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
- Monitor physical conditions and behavior for potential concerns or inappropriate activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy with a Utah license and national certification (e.g., TRS, CTRS).
- Familiarity with medical/psychological terminology, human behavior, and psychology principles.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including travel, evenings, and weekends.
- CPR certification is required.
- Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, write reports, and communicate effectively.
- Creative, reliable, and flexible.
- Ability to work well with people of all ages, think clearly, and make appropriate decisions.
