The purpose of this position is to provide outstanding customer service to recreation center patrons, assist recreation division staff, supervise and monitor the recreation center building and grounds and assist with supervising main desk staff, including providing ongoing training and assistance for all assignments associated with the main desk.

Essential job functions include performing administrative and clerical duties, providing staff and program support, performing cash handling and accounting procedures, performing facility maintenance and basic janitorial duties, monitoring facility and patrons, and providing excellent customer service.

Education and experience requirements include knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes, equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check, drug and alcohol test, and a motor vehicle review.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include providing advice to others outside direct reporting relationships, consideration of different points of view to reach agreement, persuasion to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas, and use of standard technical skills appropriate to the work environment.

Special requirements include mobility within a field environment, a negative drug test, ability to work a flexible schedule, and classification as a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Licenses and certificates required include a valid driver's license with a good driving record and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.

The work environment includes working in clean surroundings, little physical effort, and occasional lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
