Recreation Coordinator - Gaithersburg, MD - National Academy of Sports Medicine : Job Details

HealthFitness has an exciting opportunity for a Recreation Coordinator to join our team at our corporate client site in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Schedule: Flexible hours, some evenings may be required.

This role involves coordinating and implementing various recreation leagues, providing excellent service to members and participants to maximize engagement, outcomes, and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of recreation programming, including development, design, implementation, and evaluation.
• Promote recreation programs and conduct outreach to boost participation.
• Create and maintain league and tournament brackets.
• Supervise recreation programs and facilities, ensuring safety and equipment functionality.
• Design promotional flyers and posters for leagues, projects, and special events.
• Perform maintenance duties to keep facilities and equipment in optimal condition.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or related field, or equivalent experience and certifications.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications from AHA, Red Cross, or similar; certification must include in-person components.
• Preferred: Industry certification such as Group Exercise, Yoga Instructor, or Personal Trainer from an approved agency.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in managing leagues and creating tournament brackets.
• Flexible schedule to meet program needs.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation: $25.96 - $27.88 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
