Recreation Assistant - Sapphire Nursing and Rehab at Goshen : Job Details

Sapphire Nursing and Rehab is seeking a caring individual for a Full time Position as Activity Assistant within our Activities Department. This position requires compassion and professionalism due to constant interaction with residents and families.

Activity Assistant Responsibilities Include:

• Prepares and conducts specific programs in accordance with the activity calendar and as assigned by the Director of Activities.
• Provides opportunities for individual, small and large group participation in activity programs.
• Transports residents to and from activity programs. Assists in transportation of residents with canes, walkers, and other ambulation apparatus.
• Accurately documents residents daily activity attendance, including room visits.
• Assists in evaluating activity programs, including resident responses.
• Attends and actively participates in staff meetings.
• Attends staff education inservices.

Activity Assistant Requirements Include:

• Experienced and comfortable with geriatrics population.
• Able to work every other weekend.
• Able to facilitate group programs independently.
• Positive attitude and energy.
• Good organizer with skills in handicrafts, music, and other activities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written/reading skills.
