Position summary: Responsible for assisting the Office Leader with the operations of the office including the formulation of business, marketing and strategic planning. May perform the role of client or contract manager. Supervises office staff and coordinates with the corporate office. Provide oversight and support operations of transportation, buildings and facilities, and water/wastewater business lines in the Delaware offices in Newark and Dover.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
General
- Serve as a leader in the Delaware market, assisting with the development and implementation of our strategic plan, and building, inspiring and supporting outstanding teams.
- Support business operations of the Delaware offices in Newark and Dover.
Marketing & Business Development
- Maintain existing and develop new clients.
- Maintain relationship with clients to ensure satisfaction with JMT services.
- Oversight and development of proposals, procurement schedules and business development activities in collaboration with marketing staff.
Project Oversight
- Manage contracts and provide oversight of Project Managers.
- Monitor and manage project financials, including project performance and invoicing.
- Assist with forecasting administrative staffing, and facility needs for office and preparation of annual budgets.
- Review the design and production work of the staff to ensure that it meets the highest professional standards and is in conformance with company standards, including ISO:9001-2015.
- Maintain professional licensure in Delaware and provide oversight of production of construction documents, studies, and reports.
- Seal/sign construction documents as appropriate.
Financial Performance
- Assist with review, monitoring of financial performance of the office.
- Collaborate with other senior managers to support work-share and business development efforts.
- Ensure the assignment of staff resources is coordinated with regional offices.
People Management
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the firm's policies and applicable laws.
- Participate in the hiring of staff within the various teams across the office.
- Assist team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of our staff.

Required Skills
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Registered Engineer in Delaware
- 20+ years of industry experience including supervisory, project management, and familiarity with business development processes
Qualifications Preferred
- Master's degree in engineering or business
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
