RECORDS TECHNICIAN - 64006921 - STATE OF FLORIDA : Job Details

This is a technical position that involves medical records management, exercising independent judgment and initiative in the application of departmental operations. Incumbent is required to prioritize work on a daily basis and must meet time sensitive deadlines. Job responsibilities include: Interpreting and applying federal and state laws pertaining to Release of Protected Health Information. Responding to Release of Information requests, including legal, subpoenas, disability determination and all client requests both incoming and outgoing within an established 7-10-day response time. Answering telephone inquiries related to Release of Information and Medical Records in general and provides responses to internal and external clients, while providing excellent customer service. Works with local legal counsel to ensure an accurate and timely response to legal requests for medical records. Utilizes databases to track release of information transactions.
