Records Technician

This position provides administrative support to the Healthy Families Florida program. This position will report to the St. Petersburg Center of the Florida Department of Health.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry: Accurately enters and maintains information for the program's databases.
  • Reports and Operations: Produces HFF and other database reports for the Healthy Families office.
  • Clerical Support: Produces labels for documents that gets scanned into the Electronic Health Record.
  • Purchasing: Purchases program supplies as requested either in person utilizing the state issued P-Card or the MFMP system.
  • Reception Support: Acts as a receptionist, answers phone lines, takes messages, greets and routes visitors.
  • Special Projects: Completes Special Projects as assigned, including Parent Support Group activities.
  • Meets regularly with supervisor to discuss issues, opportunities, and to provide input.
  • Supports the team to ensure the flow of work activities.
  • Participates in regular staff meetings.
  • Attends training to promote professional and personal growth.
  • Promotes the division and agency's mission by participating in quality improvement activities.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • HMS/Healthy Management Services experience
  • HFF/Healthy Families Florida database experience
  • Ability to proficiently operate a personal computer for data and accompanying software.
  • Knowledge of general office procedure and practices.
  • Ability to prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English fluently.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: One to two years of experience working in a professional clerical/administrative role
  • One to two years of experience using various professional computer programs including e-mail, the Internet, and Microsoft Office
  • At least two years' experience in answering phones in a business setting.
  • At least two years of experience working with the public.
  • Fluency in English to include reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Preferred: Bilingual with written and spoken fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Healthy Families program experience.
