Excellent opportunity for a part-time clerical position, ideal for anyone interested in learning about Town government. As a Recording Clerk your responsibilities include attending meetings and recording minutes to submit to the Chair. Minimum qualifications include:
- Excellent grammar and attention to detail
- Ability to comprehend discussions and summarize in written format
- Word processing and email proficiency
- Reliability and able to work independently
- An interest in municipal government or zoning and land use is beneficial but not necessary
- Willing and able to become familiar with the Commonwealth of MA Open Meeting Law
This is a part time position, 5-6 hours/month per committee. Attendance at meetings is required; minutes preparation can be completed remotely. Recording Clerk must become familiar with the Commonwealth of MA Open Meeting Law.
Current openings are as follows: Board of Appeals - typically holds 2 meetings each month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, beginning at 7:00pm Zoning Bylaw Review Committee - typically holds 1 meeting each month on the 2nd Wednesday, beginning at 6:30pm General Bylaw Review Committee - typically holds 1 meeting each month on the 3rd Tuesday, beginning at 6:30pm. All meetings are open to the public and are currently held remotely. Government Review Committee - typically holds 2 meetings each month on the 2 nd and 4 th Tuesday beginning at 6:30pm Starting rate is $24.48/hr with the opportunity for bi-annual increases.
