Receptionist
The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full-time, 1st shift vacancy for a receptionist. Proposed schedule includes: Four 10-hour shifts (7:00am - 6:00pm) Rotating weekends (additional $2.00/hour) Varying weekends

Summary: Answers and directs incoming and outgoing telephone calls for a centralized switchboard and acts as receptionist for the NH Veterans Home.
Your Experience Counts: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education. Minimum Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: 10th grade education
- License/Certification: None
- Other Requirements: None
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in clerical or receptionist duties including the operation of a switchboard
Responsibilities:
- Operates telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.
- Greets persons entering establishment, determines nature and purpose of visit, and directs or escorts them to specific destinations.
- Schedules appointments and maintains and updates appointment calendars.
- Hears and resolves complaints from customers or the public.
- Performs administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers to work with pay records, invoices, balance sheets, or other documents.
- Transmits information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine.
- Analyzes data to determine answers to questions from customers or members of the public.
- Collects, sorts, distributes, or prepares mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
- Provides information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
- Schedules space or equipment for special programs and prepares lists of participants.
- Maintains and updates a telephone directory of employees.
- Maintains and updates listings of residents, visitor logs, and directories as required.
