Job Title: Receptionist/Front Office - Tecumseh Family Health Clinic
Location: Tecumseh Family Health, Tecumseh, Nebraska
Department: TFH
Reports To: Clinic Manager
Work Schedule: Working hours 32 to 40 hours a week, primarily scheduled Monday-Friday 8:00 to 5:00. Occasional Saturday shifts from 7:45-12:00 will be required as part of a rotation. Hours may vary due to workload, holidays and vacations.
Position Summary: Ability to deal with all aspects of front office duties and be able to handle the demands pleasantly, professionally and efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients and visitors to the clinic.
- Accurately obtaining demographic and insurance from patients.
- Entering patient information into the computer system.
- Registering patients according to clinic protocol.
- Preparing patient encounter forms.
- Answering and directing telephone calls.
- Scheduling patient appointments.
- Copying medical records.
- Picking up and distributing mail daily.
- Answering patient questions concerning their statement and/or directing to billing and coding department.
- Asking for and obtaining patient payments.
- Receiving and posting patient payments making sure the batch reconciles.
- Preparing a daily deposit in a timely manner.
- Maintaining a clean reception area to show a professional image.
- Keeping the clinic clean and disinfected at all times.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing results timely.
- Understand and demonstrate compliance with HIPPA regulations and will comply with all JCH policies and procedures.
- Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the Clinic Manager.
- Patients are always our first priority.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Warm, outgoing personality, excellent telephone etiquette, ability to work well under pressure, ability to work accurately, efficiently, and independently, ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with all persons.
- Preferred minimum level of education: High School Diploma.
- Some clerical/medical training or experience is desirable.
- Courteous and pleasant manner.
- Good business communication skills.
- Knowledge of professional telephone techniques and patient relations.
- Ability to work in a busy, stressful office environment.
