*Hourly Wage Range: $26.62/hr - $32.65/hr Hours per Day: 8.0 Days per Year: 210 **Shift: 7:30am - 4:30pm I. IDENTIFYING INFORMATION A: Job Title: B: Classification Level: Receptionist, Clerk S-2 C: Reports to: D: Working Title Assistant Director of Early Learning Program II. SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT Under direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Early Learning Program, provides receptionist duties for the Early Learning Program and clerical services. III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.Serves as receptionist and District information source for the Early Learning Program; greets and directs visitors; answers in-coming telephone calls and routes to the appropriate office or provides information to the caller. 2. Process student re-entry into school and early dismissals. 3. Use the Attendance Office computer and other facilities to record and monitor daily attendance by periods. 4. Perform daily contact to parents regarding absences. 5. Respond to parent inquires on attendance matters. 6. Prepare and distribute daily absentee list. 7. Inform grade level administrator of period absences. 8. Counsel with students regarding attendance problems. Inform grade level administrator of serious or chronic problems. 9. Type, operate office machinery and perform other clerical duties as assigned. 10. Train and supervise student office assistants. 11. Prepare communicable disease report. 12. Prepare certification of absentee listing for the district business office. 13. Model appropriate and cooperative behavior, including protecting confidential information consistent with district ethical guidelines. 14. Foster and maintain strong productive relationships with district employees, parents, students, and other community members. Work with a variety of people in a positive manner. 15. Performs other duties as assigned. The essential functions listed above are not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. The position may perform a variety of non-essential functions consistent with the scope and intent of the position. IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A. Education and Experience 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Two (2) years of successful continuous receptionist and/or clerical work experience. B. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Knowledge of and ability to display consistently correct telephone etiquette and a pleasant speaking voice, as well as perform duties in a courteous, friendly, and effective manner in a diverse environment with frequent interruptions. 2. Knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and English usage. 3.Ability to operate a multi-line telephone set, personal computer, and standard office equipment. 4.Ability to work in a multi-cultural and ethnically diverse school surrounding, with the ability to communicate effectively with all cultural groups in the community and school environment. 5.Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidential information. 6.Ability to be consistently punctual and maintain regular attendance. 7.Ability to learn district structure and operations and be able to communicate accurate information to the public effectively. C. Certification and Licenses 1. None required. V. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS 1. Multi-lingual VI. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a regular office environment. Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms and to listen carefully and focus while filtering out normal office noise. Ability to see, hear, speak, walk, sit, stand, crouch, and reach. Moderate lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Reaching overhead and horizontally. Ability to use hands and fingers for keyboarding, multi-line phone system, and mail machine; ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Exposed to frequent work place interruptions on the telephone and in person. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employee's responsibility.) The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
