Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa and often called the Pearl of the Prairie is where you can find small town living, focused on family and friends, with big city amenities not far from reach in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. Located in southwest Iowa, Taylor county, with a population of around 1400, the Lenox area reaches far beyond the city limits with beautiful and productive fields of corn, beans, and other croplands. Lenox holds an amazing four day Rodeo every July and is home to a beautiful 36-9 hole golf course, several fishing and boating lakes, great area hunting, a beautiful city park with swimming pool, and many picnic parks. The MFI location in Lenox produces primarily pre-cooked egg patties. ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY: The Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating the movement of ingredients and packaging materials within the Lenox warehouse. This includes unloading and receiving shipments, accurately storing materials, and ensuring proper stock rotation. The role directly supports the Supply Chain vision of making Michael Foods, Inc. a leader in effective, responsive, and innovative supply chain practices within the food processing industry, while strategically contributing to sustainable and profitable growth. This position requires strict adherence to safety policies and a commitment to reinforcing Safety as a Core Value. The Receiving Clerk ensures compliance with all Food Safety and Quality procedures to minimize product and process variability, protecting both our customers and our brand QualificationsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform daily SAP transactions to maintain accurate and up-to-date material inventory. • Apply knowledge of material management and distribution practices, including FIFO (First-In, First-Out). • Safely operate PIT equipment (forklift and power jack) with internal certification; responsibilities include unloading trailers and placing materials in designated racking. • Follow established warehouse procedures and maintain compliance with plant GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with Michael Foods employees. • Consistently wear and maintain required PPE (bump cap, steel-toe footwear, insulated clothing). • Participate in monthly safety training, stay informed of company safety policies, and actively contribute to achieving quarterly safety goals. • Maintain a clean and organized dock and warehouse area, ensuring good housekeeping standards. • Take personal responsibility for creating a safe and healthy workplace; integrate safety and health into all tasks and responsibilities. • Follow quality work practices to maintain product integrity, report any food safety or quality concerns to management immediately, and ensure regulatory compliance at all times. • Perform additional duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED: • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent). • Basic math skills with the ability to perform simple calculations. • Ability to read, understand, and effectively communicate instructions. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply common sense in daily tasks. • Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office and SAP is a plus. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: • Forklift and pallet jack certification. • Experience in warehouse operations and inventory control systems. • Ability to read and interpret various documents and accurately enter data. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including professional interaction with truck drivers and vendors. • Excellent customer service mindset with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
