Position Type: Clerical/Clerk RDSPD Date Posted: 8/1/2025 Location: Admn Annex BEAUMONT INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Job Description JOB TITLE: RDSPD Clerk CLASSIFICATION: Nonexempt REPORTS TO: RDSPD Director & Educational Audiologist PAY GRADE: 4 LOCATION: Assigned Campus DATE REVISED: 4/10/2025 FUNDED BY: 446.21.6129.00.838.23.000 PRIMARY PURPOSE: To facilitate the efficient operation of the Southeast Texas Regional Day School Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing department by providing clerical support to the RDSPD Director, Educational Audiologist, assessment team, and staff. To actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and success of the program. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: ? High school diploma or equivalent ? Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check Special Knowledge/Skills: ? Effective communication and interpersonal skills ? Proficient typing skills ? Proficient in key features of Google Workspace platform, including Drive, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Slides ? Strong organizational and file maintenance skills ? Knowledge of general office practices and procedures ? Competent in math and some bookkeeping skills ? Bilingual abilities are a plus; able to read, write, and speak Business Spanish proficiently. Experience: ? Minimum of 3 years as a secretary, preferably in special education MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Assist the audiologist and assessment staff by scheduling testing, appointments, and site visits to schools. 2. Schedule Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings and notify parents, ARD Committee members, and all appropriate school personnel of the meeting times, including any schedule changes. Use Google Calendar to send ARD invites to all participants. 3. Print and distribute, via mail or email, completed ARD paperwork to families and designated staff of students' Local Education Agency (LEA). 4. Maintain a detailed account of audiological services provided to students and school districts. 5. Manage the hearing aid maintenance program, including inventory, ordering supplies, fiscal records, and record keeping. 6. Manage the Assistive Listening Device program, including telephone contacts with area school district personnel, preparation of equipment, and completion of paperwork. 7. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve inquiries regarding hearing aid maintenance and assistive listening device programs. Page | 1 of 3 8. Support families by investigating personal amplification, warranty information, and financial support for repairs and replacement equipment. 9. Maintain eligibility files (i.e., copying, filing, and distribution to school districts, teachers, and parents). 10. Maintain accurate student information of all necessary tests and reports for PEIMS on a database. 11. Keep an accurate listing of dismissed students' records (i.e., purging of records and documentation). 12. Maintain SETX RDSPD Assistive Listening Device inventory with the database. 13. Request quotes for assistive listening technology from approved vendors. 14. Track materials and equipment distributed and in use by SETX RDSPD personnel. 15. Develop computer programs to facilitate efficient SETX RDSPD record keeping, data retrieval/usage, and work processing needs. 16. Assist audiologist with scheduling of audiological and otologic tests by preparing necessary forms, scheduling bus driver, and follow-up to teachers and parents. 17. Assist with the referral process by being the point of contact for member districts, maintaining paperwork, requesting medical or educational files, and collaborating with team members to ensure completion of the evaluation in a timely manner. 18. Exercise good telephone etiquette, take reliable messages, problem solve or answer questions conveyed, extract necessary information from caller, and route to appropriate staff member. 19. Type correspondence, reports, and forms as needed. 20. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of the SETX RDSPD. 21. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth. 22. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action. 23. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals. 24. Demonstrate proficient levels of technology applications. 25. Participate fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students. 26. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities. 27. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings. 28. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor. 29. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers. 30. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/program are met. 31. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal). 32. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned. EQUIPMENT USED: ?
