Job DescriptionSugarbug is hiring Dental Assistants and Registered Dental Assistants-Sugarbug Dental & Orthodontics is an established Pediatric Dental and Orthodontic practice that has been serving the county of Ventura for over 10 years, just a short drive from the ocean in the city of Oxnard, CA. In early 2021, we are seeking to staff our second pediatric location in Camarillo, CA. As our company has expanded and continues to grow, so do the opportunities to grow our team. Sugarbug is currently looking for Dental Assistants and Registered Dental Assistants to join our practice.Sugarbug is seeking a Dental Assistant to work alongside our Dr.'s to provide both primary and comprehensive preventive and restorative care for infants, children and teens. This position requires dedication to the delivery of quality oral health care for all children, a caring and compassionate nature and commitment to becoming an integral part of Sugarbug's oral health care team. If you are interested in joining an established and growing practice with a long tenured support team, joining Sugarbug Dental & Orthodontics is a great opportunity for you.Duties include but not limited to the following:Patient ManagementGreet patientsSet up treatment rooms for proceduresEscort patients to treatment roomSeat patients in treatment roomsShow care and concern, and help patients feel comfortableObtain and review health histories according to office protocolEnsure patients are always attendedAnticipate and assist dentist's needsPerform functions and tasks as assigned by the dentistMix dental materialsEnsure patients' questions are answered thoroughly before they leaveChart patients records, service rendered and any chargesEscort patients from the treatment room to treatment coordinationEnsure proper treatment notes are recorded in patient's chartPerform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentistMonitor patient flowTreatment Room Management and SterilizationKeep dental units ready, stocked and cleanOversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization proceduresDisinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulationsSterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulationsKeep trays, instruments and treatment room drawers organizedEnsure that office sterilization procedures document is on displayPromptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory casesImplement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipmentFollow laboratory procedures according to office protocolExperienceCoursework in dental assisting and proceduresCompliance with state dental practice requirements (i.e., X-ray requirements, OSHA training)InterpersonalGood interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and communityEffective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staffWe offer a complete benefit package along with a positive work environment and an opportunity for growth.Job Type: Full-time-Compensation (31-54k yearly range based on hourly pay) depending on Experience Licensing and Education
