POSITION SUMMARY
Your role as a Radiology Imaging Technologist will be to deliver high-quality imaging services to patients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner while ensuring a safe and clean environment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education/Training
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology with accreditation through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; compliance with CE requirements is essential.
- BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience
- One year of hospital experience post-graduation and accreditation is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with the right attitude.
Equipment and Skills Training
- Possess a general understanding of various x-ray equipment and computers; training will be provided on specific equipment used at Williamson Health.
- Previous experience in fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies is beneficial with a willingness to perform these tasks daily.
Physical Environment
- Adhere to radiation safety and universal precautions in a multi-modality imaging department.
Physical Effort
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks, including operating equipment, assisting patients in mobility, lifting up to 20 pounds, and communicating effectively.
- Exhibit good judgment in urgent situations and maintain emotional stability in interactions with all stakeholders.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Verify patient identification and physician orders for accurate requests before conducting studies. Inquire about pregnancy in female patients aged 12-50 and document appropriately. Gather medical history and allergies for all patients receiving intravenous contrast media. Implement radiation protection measures following ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY, and IMAGE WISELY protocols. Uphold each patient's dignity by ensuring they are properly covered throughout exams and transport. Utilize downtime to assist in other areas and make efficient use of time. Regularly check on patients waiting in hallways to ensure comfort and pain management. Show leadership and teamwork during challenging situations and make sound decisions. Be willing to volunteer for overtime and additional shifts as needed. Ensure patient safety by adhering to safety procedures while assisting with mobility. Consistently perform high-quality imaging studies. Collaborate effectively with colleagues to optimize equipment use and fulfill all requests from physicians and patients.
