Perform imaging procedures utilizing appropriate equipment and technique.

Responsibilities:
\n
\n - Perform imaging procedures utilizing appropriate equipment and technique
\n - Positions patients appropriately
\n - Positions camera close to patient
\n - Performs appropriate imaging for body site
\n - Collects significant procedure counts for adequate imaging
\n - Administration of appropriate radiopharmaceuticals safely under the direction of the nuclear medicine physician
\n - Wears monitoring badges
\n - Utilizes shielding
\n - Administers radiopharmaceuticals by appropriate route
\n - Preparation and Safe handling of Radiopharmaceuticals
\n - Wears appropriate lab attire Dispensing radiopharmaceuticals
\n - Wears protective gear (gloves)
\n - Utilizes lead shielding
\n - Utilizes other shielding as appropriate (e.g.; plastic )
\n - Process data and archives
\n - Processes SPECT acquisitions using appropriate filters
\n - Processes Renal studies
\n - Makes copies of images as requested
\n - Transfers studies to network
\n - Archives data and verifies its receipt in PACS
\n - Scans all relevant documents into PACS
\n - Perform quality control on imaging and gamma counting equipment
\n - Performs QC procedures when assigned; Analyzes results & advises Manager of possible problems
\n - Receipt of radiopharmaceuticals
\n - Dispensing radiopharmaceuticals
\n - Reconstitution of kits
\n - Documents dose administered to patients
\n - Documents disposal of radiopharmaceuticals
\n - Provide safe and appropriate patient care
\n - Positions patients minimizing discomfort
\n - Places patients on imaging equipment safely
\n - Responsive to patients' concerns regarding placement within gamma camera
\n - Maintains a clean and safe work environment
\n - Stores supplies in appropriate areas
\n - Keeps work area clean
\n - Replaces surface barriers that prevent spread of radioactive contamination
\n - Recycles lead back to vendor
\n - Performs related duties, as required
\n

Qualifications:
\n
\n - High School diploma or GED, required. Completion of two (2) years American Medical Association approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology, required. Bachelor's degree preferred
\n - Licensed by the State of New York to practice Nuclear Medicine, required
\n - Certified by the ARRT or NMTCB, required.
\n
