The Radiation Therapist is responsible for coordination of the operations of the radiation treatment team which include simulation and radiation therapy. The therapists correctly execute special procedural areas, ensuring radiotherapy prescriptions and plans. Radiation Therapists are the primary liaison between patients and other members of the Radiation Oncology team. They remain sensitive to the needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring and patient care skills. # Essential Job Qualifications # Education: Graduate of an approved, two-year, hospital-based certificate program, two-year associate degree program, or four-year baccalaureate degree program in Radiation Therapy. Experience: One to three years clinical experience in Radiation Therapy preferred. Training/Certification: ARRT registered or eligible for registration within the field of Radiation Therapy. Current BLS certification. Licensure: Current licensure as required by the State of New York. Other: Technical problem solving. Provide excellent care for all patients regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, or religion.# Ability to work flexible hours.# Ability to travel for educational/training purposes.# Excellent computer skills.# Teaching and coaching skills.# Knowledge of cancer physiology, treatment, and side effects.
