R&D Scientist - 24hrpo : Job Details

Committed to helping athletes optimize their health and performance through research and education in hydration and nutrition science. Recently, they have embarked on a new project to expand the research and athlete testing facility in Valhalla. This facility is responsible for conducting efficacy research on functional ingredients for hydration. The incumbent of this Scientist role will be responsible for representing GSSI and the R&D teams with high standards and in accordance with ethical guidelines for human research and conduct.

What You'll Do:

• Execute the laboratory-based clinical research studies at the research hub in Valhalla, NY.• Serve as a Biochemistry Technician for the clinical research program, responsible for biological fluid sample handling, analysis, and laboratory/equipment maintenance.

What We're Looking For:

• M.S. required in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.• Two or more years of experience in a laboratory technician role (including experience gained during M.S. thesis work).• Demonstrable experience with biofluid sample handling and analytical techniques.• Excellent organizational skills, wet lab skills (pipetting), and laboratory skills (ion chromatography and ELISA assays).• A proactive work style, ability to multitask, and flexibility to work in a high-performance and ever-changing environment.• Self-starter with good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with various personalities and work styles.• Flexibility and willingness to work during non-traditional hours (e.g., early morning) as needed depending on research protocol (approximately 15-20%).
