We are embedded engineers who are pushing the envelope in designing smart control and data acquisition system (DSP / 32 bit uPs) for the down hole drilling industry. This industry is ideal for energetic engineers who thrive on solving problems. Our primary mission is designing low power, high reliability embedded systems for downhole drilling tools that operate at extreme temperature and vibration. You will be provided with the best tools and expected to keep pace with the latest products on the market. The breath of your knowledge in other disciplines (mechanical, physics, signal processing, software architecture, electronic packaging, manufacturing, test systems etc.) will be utilized.

    The engineer will be responsible for developing systems that meet written specifications and requirements for functionality and performance. The appropriate design and acceptance reviews shall be conducted per Halliburton's documented standards.

    Additional responsibilities include periodic reporting of planned and completed development activities, providing estimated completion dates, and prompt reporting of issues affecting the development of products. This includes communication with different groups including project management, immediate supervisor, mechanical teams, software & hardware development groups, etc. on an ongoing basis in order to report problems and discuss issues affecting product development.

    Requirements:

    • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineer and 2 years of related experience. Completion of a master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred
    • Requirements (some or all of the following):
      • Demonstrated skills in embedded firmware development (especially C)
      • Demonstrated skills in digital circuit design
      • Advanced familiarity with data acquisition instrumentation and methods
      • Working knowledge with data analysis tools such as Matlab
      • Demonstrated skills in analog circuit design
