The position provides electrical and embedded software engineering leadership for the development of arthroscopic enabling technologies within the Sports Medicine franchise. The leader will oversee the design and development of products from inception through market release and post-launch support, collaborating with R&D, Program Management, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Clinical teams to ensure compliance and innovation. This role requires strong technical skills, project planning, team building, and multitasking abilities.

What will you be doing?

  • 25% - Lead the design, development, and market introduction of arthroscopic enabling technologies, focusing on visualization systems.
  • 15% - Collaborate with surgeons and marketing to analyze customer needs and define product pipeline strategies.
  • 10% - Evaluate customer needs and emerging technologies to conceptualize innovative designs.
  • 10% - Coordinate with project teams to drive projects to completion within schedule and budget.
  • 10% - Manage departmental resource allocation aligned with corporate priorities.
  • 10% - Supervise Verification and Validation activities.
  • 5% - Consult with management, production, and marketing to assess engineering feasibility and customer needs.
  • 5% - Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and external partners on development and testing.
  • 5% - Produce quality documentation for new product development.

Education Requirements:

  • B.S. or higher in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering or related field; advanced degrees preferred.

What will you need to be successful?

  • 8+ years of relevant design experience with a B.S., or 5+ years with an M.S., or 2+ years with a Ph.D.
  • At least 5 years in the medical device industry and 12+ years engineering experience.
  • 2-5 years in Quality Assurance or Compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Management experience supervising teams of managers, engineers, and technicians.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and regulatory knowledge skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 10% domestic and limited international travel.
