Kopp Glass, a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer of high-performance, custom glass products, is seeking to hire a Quality Technician to support key aspects of the Quality Management System including Production support and equipment calibration activities. This individual provides timely, accurate, and efficient workflow support of production through quality assurance activities to consistently deliver high-performance glass products on-time and in-spec. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical and technical abilities while executing the daily tasks associated with product conformity such as measurement activities using such equipment as Coordinate Measuring Machines ('CMM'), simple calipers, and optical comparators. We are hiring for both entry-level and mid-level Technician positions. This is a fully onsite position that will be responsible for performing job functions in both Swissvale (15218) and Rostraver Township (15012). Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical production support to manufacturing operations; solves conformance related issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts. Ensure Production has the appropriate documents needed to produce conforming ware through the Control of Engineering Drawings process.
  • Maintains control of nonconforming ware through containment actions, material review boards, and the nonconforming material area.
  • Completes calibration, repairs, and maintenance on measurement and test equipment ensuring all areas of production have the proper equipment to perform appropriate inspection for conformance to customer requirements.
  • Performs additional measurements and adheres to established criteria as required related but not limited to CMM, basic dimensional measurements, and visual glass quality inspection.
  • Completes required shipping documentation related to quality assurance checklists and pre-shipment verification activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Technical or related Associates degree required
  • At least 2+ years' experience in manufacturing environment and with quality management system 'QMS' experience
  • Lean Manufacturing training, Manufacturing Enterprise System and product/process documentation or experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic measuring equipment i.e., calipers, micrometers etc.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and data entry into Quality Management Software
