JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Control Technician works with the project team to identify deficient and nonconforming work throughout the construction process. Monitors quality control requirements of the project using the Project Quality Plan, the contract documents, and Harvey | Harvey-Cleary performance metrics to ensure quality construction projects for our clients.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees project subcontractor quality control representatives.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform first delivery inspection to examine the product for conformance
  • Perform first installation inspections for conformance
  • Conduct field reviews and inspections of ongoing and completed work to verify competency, accuracy, and compliance with respect to approved construction methods, applications, applicable standards, and construction documents.
  • Work with project superintendent, project manager, and subcontractors to identify and track deficient and non-conforming work.
  • Assist the project management team in preparing and executing requests for information (RFIs).
  • Ensure the inspection and test plan procedures are followed, including verifying the calibration of the test equipment.
  • Participate in pre-installation meetings with subcontractors.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the quality/safety standards.
  • Prepare: Daily field logs and reports of inspections, Field observations of deficient and nonconforming construction items and track status, Daily project progress photos, and Meeting minutes with subcontractors and clients
  • Attend Harvey | Harvey-Cleary training and safety meetings
  • Assist with the facilitation of internal Harvey | Harvey-Cleary training on quality control best practices and lessons learned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of construction drawings, engineering reports, and material specifications.
  • Experience with construction site safety methods and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to listen, read, understand, and follow directions and all safety warnings.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Generic knowledge of industry code and standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in construction science or engineering, or equivalent, preferred but not required.
  • OSHA 30 training within 90 days of employment.
  • Procore certification within 30 days of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors given safety signs and warnings.
  • Must be able to maintain balance.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of work conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noise, smells, weather elements, and other elements associated with commercial construction sites.
  • Must be able to use all applicable Personal Protective Equipment.

Prospective employees must be able to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
