Hospitals, hotels, schools, bridges, airports and more.Come build a career you believe in.Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician in Blytheville, AR. This position will be reporting directly to the Quality Manager, will primarily be responsible for overseeing the product quality for the designated shift including monitoring of ultrasonic testing, disposition of non-conforming material, and auditing inspection functions. The job may included additional duties as required by the Quality Manager or the Blytheville Management Team.InspectionReview and disposition suspect and nonconforming material.Setup, operate and monitor CNC equipment.Setup, operate and monitor NDT equipment when orders call for UT testing.Interpret and communicate specification information to the mills.Using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers for dimensional analysisPerform daily audits of production lines to ensure processes are being followed.Perform Tensile testing as required.Perform Charpy impact testing as required.Enter test data into SAP.Ensure samples are cut for product certification.Perform analysis of mill fluids utilizing appropriate lab equipment.Provide relief for mill inspectors for breaks/ lunch.Generate MTR data for customer shipments as required.QUALIFICATIONSAbility to pass and maintain Non-Destructive Level I for UTAbility to utilize computers and work with Microsoft Office tools and excellent verbal communication and written skillsPrevious work experience in an UT Lab preferred.Previous work experience in an industrial environment preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsMeet physical requirements of the job duties which include, but are not limited to:Able to lift and put in place calibration standards for NDT equipment (weights could be up to approx. 60 lbs)Stand at mill or inspection station for most of shift workedWalk up to 3 miles over the course of a shift worked in order to support operations and effectively conduct all inspection activities.SKILLS/COMPETENCIESHS diploma with some post HS education or job training required or equivalent job experienceMust be able to follow written/verbal instructions; basic computer skills; able to read a micrometerExhibits effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.Visual Acuity to read and record numerical dataAttention to detail, dependability, professionalism and a great work ethicRegular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this roleLead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policyZekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
