Salary Range: $18.50-$23.40

Shift: 2nd 3:00pm-11:30pm

The hired applicant's wages will fall within the specified range, determined by various factors

Summary Description:

· Reporting to the Department Manager, the Quality Systems Technician is responsible for providing comprehensive and efficient administrative service to the site Quality team. The role focuses on accuracy and speed to ensure that quality and professional service is always delivered to all internal and external interfaces.

Essential Job Functions:

· Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and PPE requirements.

· Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).

· Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency for all administrative tasks within the Quality Department.

· Provide comprehensive administrative support to the QA team, enabling the achievement of departmental objectives.

· Responsible for the procurement and inventory of laboratory supplies, including reagents, water treatment chemicals, and microbiological materials.

· Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices related to lab supplies.

· Issue and process Purchase Orders (POs) for the Quality Department in a timely and accurate manner.

· Maintain the document control system for the SQF program, including SOPs, policies, internal audits, and corrective actions.

· Monitor and support the completion of corrective actions, ensuring timely resolution.

· Assist with plant audits to ensure GMP and SOP compliance, providing actionable summary reports for leadership.

· Assist in Management Review meetings by supporting the annual review and updates of the SQF program by leadership.

· Participate and contribute to Food Safety/HACCP reviews annually and prior to process changes.

· Communicate Quality performance data and update specifications for co-pack produced products.

· Verify Quality Control and Assurance data daily to ensure consistency and compliance.

· Assist with maintaining Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for ingredients and reagents, including organic certifications.

· Compile and maintain Quality KPIs, contributing to the Plant Dashboard and data reporting.

· Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the facility's SQF and quality SOPs.

· Oversee the receipt and delivery processes for alcohol, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and quality standards. (Alcohol producing sites only.)

Required Skills:

· Experience in Food/ Beverage Manufacturing preferred.

· Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP and Power Point.

· Ability to analyze and solve problems, results oriented.

· Organized and detail oriented, adaptable to change.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.

· Technical: Skilled in maintaining accurate and detailed records of inspections and tests

· Integrity: Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in all quality assurance activities.

· Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing production environments and requirements .

· Communication: Clear and concise communication with production staff and management

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Science, Quality or related discipline

· Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality within a manufacturing environment, preferably food/beverage industry

· Solid understanding of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) – certification ideal.

· In plants co-packaging alcoholic beverages, sensory tasting must be at least 21 years old.

Working Conditions:

· Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.

· Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold (laboratory is temperature controlled). The environment is structured and supervised.
