Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact to understand and evaluate customer requirements. Represent Alkegen with the customer for varied requirements including ISO 9000 and IATF16949 compliance.
- Define the quality requirements for the internal Alkegen supply chain, ensure raw material specifications are established and verified during goods receiving, and ensure saleable production specifications are maintained and aligned to applicable customer technical specifications.
- Lead and develop a team that includes Quality Engineers, Technicians and Inspectors. Maintain frequent customer contact and visits including vendor contacts, visits, and audits.
- Influence all site functional departments to ensure compliance and performance aligned with Business and Industry standards/expectations.
- Ensure Plant Process Owners accountability for the effectiveness and efficiency of their respective Key Processes.
- Champion Quality rollout and drive Quality initiatives and benefits to stakeholders at all levels.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture at the site to grow and optimize products and processes.
- Support the Plant Leadership team in deploying strategy (Operational Tactical Planning).
- Model core values, develop urgency, take informed risks, and lead by example with integrity and high standards.
- Promote a no-excuse culture, cross-cultural collaboration, and development of talent.
- Manage issues with multi-level complexity and foster an English-speaking capability at higher levels.
- Energize the organization through visible leadership and a strong work ethic.
- Establish clear expectations and accountability across the plant; drive results through resource planning.
- Demonstrate change management skills to set the scene for change, plan, communicate, and build commitment.
- Communicate effectively with all plant levels and maintain relationships with corporate functions and leadership.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and uphold Alkegen's safety standards and Seven Safety Absolutes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in a Quality role within a chemical or manufacturing environment (preferred).
- OR, Associate's degree with 15 years of experience in Quality Management.
- Demonstrated Lean Six Sigma experience with statistical analysis and problem solving (e.g., DOE).
- Tier 1 automotive experience required.
- High level understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Process Capability, Root Cause Analysis, G8D, DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, Control Plans and Key characteristics.
- Excellent people, communication, team-building and organizational skills.
- Adaptive coaching skills (listening, asking, responding).
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Minitab; Lotus Notes as applicable).
- Ability to work cross-functionally to determine practical solutions; travel up to 20% (international and domestic).
Compensation
- $117,000 - $135,000 annual
- Pay may vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience. Total compensation may include other elements based on the offer. Details provided with an offer of employment.
